Beer bar quiz // 8pm
Join us in Beer Bar every Monday at 8pm for a quiz night hosted by the Games Committee. It's free to take part, with a selection of prizes on offer!
This weekly quiz runs every Monday at 8pm in the Beer Bar. With 6 fun rounds, Beer Bar's famous atmosphere and great prizes your whole team can enjoy, it's the only way to start your week (but potentially ruin your Tuesday - lectures beware!). We host teams from as small as 1 to as many you can fit in a booth. With prizes guaranteed to give you and your team a night to remember (or not) in the GUU, live up to the legend of the most loose quiz in Glasgow!
Speaker training // 6pm
The GUU is one of the most successful debating institutions in the world, with 5 World University Debating Championships to its name - more than Oxford and Cambridge combined. Every Tuesday at 6pm, the Union’s top debaters run speaker training to teach you how to emulate this success. It’s open to everyone, regardless of whether you’ve done any public speaking before. Maybe you see yourself as the GUU’s next debating champion, or maybe you just want to try your hand public speaking before a big presentation! Everyone is welcome, come along to Speaker Training, Tuesdays at 6pm in the Birdie Library.

open mic // 9pm
GUU's answer to the X-Factor, Open Mic is a weekly event hosted by the Entertainments Committee on Friday nights. It's an opportunity for everyone to express their unique and creative talents and bolster their confidence through performing. Open Mic is the perfect environment to duet with friends, publicise your own music or just have fun. Whether its impromptu or rehearsed everyone is welcome at Open Mic!
