Daft Friday

Daft Friday, commonly referred to as D*** F*****, is a simply stunning event, celebrating its 109th year in December 2017. Held in honour of GUU’s President, this end-of-term ball is a celebration like none other.

A committee work from September-December to decorate the Union in a mysterious theme, which is such a secret that the Union shuts in the final week before Friday 19th. Past themes have seen Harry Potter take over the turrets, Lord of the Rings cover the walls and last year a cheshire cat smile at us in the entrance hall for Alice in Wonderland.

Dressed up in your finest black-tie, your ticket shall gain you entry to 12 hours of not only the secret theme, but also the biggest guest act on campus all year, a swing band, a ceilidh, a casino, string quartet, acapella singing, karaoke and much more, culminating in a FREE breakfast for those powerful enough to make it through to the end.

With past guest acts including CHVRCHES, Newton Faulkner, Bombay Bicycle Club, Arcade Fire, Fickle Friends, and guest DJs including Basshunter and Sub Focus, this event is truly the most special in your semester.
