Karen Cossar PSM (2011-2013) says hello to everbody and shares all the GUU has in store for you

26 October 2012

Hiya!

I hope you have all managed to recover from the dreaded Freshers’ Flu and are settling into the University way of life; either for the first time or just getting back into the swing of it after a long summer.

Here at GUU, we’ve packed away our yellow t-shirts for another year and our voices are finally starting to recover from chanting and singing for 10 days! Even we have finally had to accept that lectures and tutorials are inevitable (well, maybe not the 9am ones...) and are now more likely to be found by one of the Union’s fireplaces or enjoying The Drawing Room: our new coffee shop.

However, the fun at GUU doesn’t stop when Freshers’ Week ends and we have plenty of weekly events to keep you entertained. Between the Beer Bar Quiz, Speaker Training (for all you debating enthusiasts) Snooker competitions, Open Mic and of course the legendary Thursday Night Hive, there is something for everyone!

We also have a few special events coming up which I think you will love!On Saturday 27th October, we will be hosting our special, spooky, extended Hallowe’en Hive where you can enjoy all the thrills of Thursday Night Hive but for longer, and dressed up in your spookiest gear! And on 14th December we are hosting our annual black-tie Christmas Ball: D*** F*****! 12 hours of fun, live music, DJs and a secret theme which will not be discovered until the night mean that this is one not to be missed! Tickets will go on sale soon so keep an eye out!

For more information on what GUU offers throughout the year check out our Facebook, Twitter or sign up to our website for updates!

And remember, if you want to go to heaven when you die...

Hugs and Snogs!
